Il Consumer Electronics Show di Las Vegas è senza alcun dubbio la manifestazione di elettronica più grande al mondo.
Chi vi scrive vi ha presenziato personalmente 2 volte, prima che il declino della manifestazione diventasse tangibile. Ricordo ancora la prima volta, nel 2007, quando mi aggiravo per il Sands, un enorme hotel strutturato come un motel, che sembrava una città. Lì esponevano solo hi-fi, mentre al Centro Congressi v'era tutta l'elettronica di consumo, che non m'interessava direttamente. Quante foto! La mia nuova reflex Canon faceva il proprio dovere, per fortuna, e riposava un po' solo quando ero costretto a sedermi, che le forze mi abbandonavano. Centinaia di foto, un paradiso che non avevo mai visto prima, un'esposizione di apparecchi che noi europei, allora, potevamo solo sognare. E non finiva lì, c'erano anche camere al Venetian, e qualche altro espositore sparso negli altri hotel. Una cosa incredibile, davvero il Paese dei Balocchi per gli appassionati di audio. Ma tutto ciò era al tramonto. Già l'anno seguente, il Sands non era più utilizzato, ed era rimasto solo il Venetian, che poi si è ridotto, a mano a mano che il tempo passava, all'ombra di sé stesso, per quanto riguarda l'high-end audio. Ultimamente, addirittura, ci si poneva il quesito se continuare ad esporre l'audio di qualità a Las Vegas, o lasciare che rimanesse appannaggio di manifestazioni più piccole, in varie città degli USA, organizzate da riviste audio o altri gruppi specializzati. Quest'anno, per le note cause, il CES si tiene in forma virtuale, dall'11 al 14 gennaio, e noi ci siamo chiesti se valesse la pena seguirlo in qualche modo, e quali sarebbero potuti essere i protagonisti della manifestazione. Audio-activity.com, come sapete, si occupa di audio, non di robot, tecnologie o elettrodomestici vari, che fanno la parte del leone in questa kermesse. Nel dubbio, abbiamo effettuato l'iscrizione come stampa, per capire quanto lo show potesse interessare i nostri lettori. A mano a mano che arrivavano le mail di presentazione degli espositori, e dopo aver seguito la conferenza stampa live degli organizzatori, ci siamo resi conto che alcuni marchi e prodotti riguardano in modo importante il settore audio-video, tanto da convincerci a parlarvene. Ed eccoci qui, a scaldare i motori, mentre "scremiamo" le decine di mail che ci giungono tutti i giorni, per mostrarvi solo quelle che sappiamo interessarvi in qualche maniera.
