Welcome to the High End Munich 2015!“It’s the 9th year in a row that I go to Munich for the High End”, this is what I was telling my friend Domenico Pizzamiglio just the other day.
It is an appointment that I cannot skip, especially after having written many times about it for Audio Review in the past and for my Audio-activity.com in the last few years. On the paper magazine the report was just a long series of pictures with captions to tell what I had seen. For Audio-activity.com it’s a race against time, to give all the latest news as soon as possible. Actually two years ago we did for the first time ever the real time report of the show. We entered the rooms, took pictures and posted them online just few minutes after the opening of the show. All this meant a huge strain and poor quality pictures due to the rush. But we had our reward: the massive number of visitors on the magazine’s website, largely above the average. Last year we did the same thing but we were not alone and we noticed it because of the decreased number of website visitors. But we are always evolving, therefore we have decided to change again. This year we will update the webpage paying special attention to the quality of the images and not to the quantity. You’ll have less pictures but with a higher definition and, more important, we’ll focus on the latest and most interesting products trying to avoid all that is “dejà-vu”. And last but not least we’ll spend some time listening to the different rooms and we will highlight the best 5 and … the worst 5 rooms. Of course we will give you the reasons for our hit parade! We might not be the first ones to do this but I am sure not many reporters do it. Stay with us during the days of the show and also in the following days.
