 For the many enthusiastic friends of TACET Real Surround Sound, we have a huge and welcome surprise today. After careful deliberation and intensive preparation, TACET now announces that another sound carrier, the Blu-ray disc, will be added to our two well-known multi-channel formats SACD and DVD-audio. All discs are released "pure audio", without moving images. They offer high-resolution 5.1-tone and high-resolution stereo tone.
The first 20 discs will be released in autumn, amongst them several acquisitions from out-of-print publications, but especially new recordings in TACET Real Surround Sound. These include the spectacular 5.1-version of major orchestral works of Maurice Ravel with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra under Carlo Rizzi, chamber music of Erich Korngold with the Camerata Freden, the still missing Real Surround Sound versions of the prize-winning string quartets of Joseph Haydn with the Auryn Quartet, and others. It has been planned to issue the entire Real Surround Sound catalogue, little by little - approximately 50 titles - on Blu-ray.  The Proteus represents the pinnacle of all that Seiji Yoshioka has learned and achieved in his pioneering and perfection of the ring-magnet construction in phono cartridges. Chris Sommovigo has now launched a new website that serves to aggregate links from review and enthusiast websites from around the world and bring them to a single-paged destination on the web: www.High-Fidelity.com “I’m hoping to keep it interesting and fun, and to work symbiotically with audiophile and music sites from around the globe by directing traffic their way. Meanwhile, we’re finding great stories about products our readers might find interesting – and might not know are out there. It’s intended to be a very positive situation for everyone.” Some of the links that originate in non-english-language websites are directed through Google’s translation service, helping the english-reader to enjoy and profit from the information in the articles. One aspect of the site may, however, prove to be somewhat controversial: the Free Classifieds section. But Mr. Sommovigo feels that this is an excellent way to add value to his service: “The internet has always been an extraordinarily democratizing instrument, and it has forced us to shift paradigms in so many areas – especially in commerce – because it creates a very inexpensive way of providing certain kinds of services. Thanks to the open-architecture of various blog platforms, software-engineering entrepreneurs are providing very inexpensive solutions that extend the capability of these platforms.  Santa Monica, CA, May 30, 2013 – Leading digital audio manufacturer Antelope Audio will introduce the newest member of its stellar Integrity line of D/A converters – Zodiac Platinum at the T.H.E Show Newport, Hilton hotel. The new Antelope DAC brings audio appreciation to a higher level, offering the audiophile community the widest DSD support, including the unique 256X mode and a sample rate of 768 kHz via a custom-built USB chip.
The extreme DSD256 greatly extends the accuracy and transparency of the audio reproduction as well as the overall system performance. The custom-designed Antelope USB chip compliments high fidelity by reducing clock jitter and pushing the envelope of the USB streaming with sample rates four times higher than those offered by similar devices. Whereas many top of the line DACs offer PCM upsamplers, the Platinum is the first device to offer a DSD upsampler. This distinctive feature allows the upsampling of DSD64 to DSD256, pushing DSD noise into higher frequencies, vastly improving the quality of the D/A conversion. The Platinum bypasses internal digital filters built into the DAC chip by implementing a custom upsampler with carefully designed high-precision linear phase filters in the FPGA.
