Op. 76, that's sort of kings (or queens?) of all string quartets by Joseph Haydn. With the famous "Kaiser-Quartett" between... And it's the uncrowned king of the first complete 5.1 set of all 68 Haydn quartets, called "Auryn's Haydn" and produced by TACET. What a unique collection! On CD format this 22 CD release was awarded with German Echo, Record of the year of German critics and many more.

Joseph Haydn is sort of the inventor of the string quartet. He is a good example for the fact that very often the first person who does something is already the best. Because he or she is most aware of the possibilities of a new medium. We do not want to compare with Haydn - oh no... But anybody who wants to record string quartets in surround sound has to compare with this edition, this noble playing of the Auryn Quartet and this beautiful sound.

This is how the ensemble BonaNox formulates its project of the 4 Elements. Meanwhile, Peter Heusch (speaker), Matthias Horn (baritone) and Christoph Ullrich (piano) have already arrived at the third element: air.
Once again, not only the selection of texts and the preciousness of the individual pieces is impressive, but also the way in which they are compiled and the artistic presentation. All this conveys a feeling of wholeness and the impression that one holds an independent new work of art in one's hands with this recording.
